The Albanian Journal of Trauma and Emergency Surgery (AJTES) is the official publication of the Albanian Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ASTES) which is published twice a year. From its first year of publication in 2017, the International exposure of the Journal has expanded significantly. AJTES is an open-access magazine, valued by colleagues, which aims to promote the interest, knowledge, and quality of care in emergency and trauma operations. The journal has an Impact Factor 1,022 based on the ICR for 2020-21 and other indexes. Types of articles consist of guest editorials, original investigative reports (clinical and basic science articles), case reports/case series, review articles, systematic reviews, and Letters to the Editor. The editorial content, according to the mission statement, includes the areas of anesthesia, acute and chronic pain, perioperative medicine, and critical care. In addition, the Journal publishes practical guidelines and important standard articles for clinicians. The contributions are reviewed and selected by a distinguished group from all over Albania and the world, who also make up the Editorial Board.
